Which version of B. Gita do you have? Does it have purports and expanded explanations of every verse?
I read it on my own many years ago – and didn’t understand any at all.
Years later, I attended a course where most verses from all chapters were explained – and then I finally understood its relevance ad depth.

My copy is very, very old yet I’ve never had the chance to read it. Yes it does have purports and expanded explanations written by His Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. That name will probably mean much more to you than I as I am a complete beginner in understanding the B. Gita.

Yes, he’s the founder of ISKCON cult. I ‘m currently reading his Q&As at various public meetings. He’s very confident, very clear in his ideas and yet has right touch of humor in his replies.
He explains his name Prabhupada as Prabhu (God) + pada (position). So he’s placed by his Guru in the position of propogating real idea about God.
His explanation of Krishn’s ‘Varna’ system is riveting. Its been mistaken & misinterpreted as Caste system since centuries. Whereas its based solely on work ethics, personality type, propensity towards a profession rather than nepotism.
So much to learn, so much to de-learn, so much to read in this life!

Totally! Of course, I reserve my thoughts on some of his thoughts on other topics & on other media. But at least for B. Gita, his comments seem concise and precise.

Excellent – I shall look forward to reading it and also to improving my ability (limited) of reading Hindi – at least the script anyway – as the text comes with Hindi, latin transliteration and English translation. Very useful indeed though I think it will take me the best part of a year to read it!

Yes, I particularly like to go back and re-read Sanskrit verse after reading its English translation. The syllables kind of open up with meaning. And it was always a dream to read in Sanskrit.
Even R. Oppenheimer was a Sanskrit scholar and read B. Gita in its original script.

I purchased this book through Kindle. I had no idea about the author but I just wanted to read more about Arjun and she has done her job successfully.
This book is not just another retelling of Mahabharata. It is reflecting the emotions of the greatest warrior of the Epic. We have always known Arjun as a peerless worrier but what made him a great worrier? Was everything served to him on a silver platter? No, he worked hard for that. He was one of the most unfortunate characters of Mahabharata (after Draupadi). He spent many years of his youthful age in the forest. He was asked to share his wife, he had to leave the kingdom he established and still his brother stakes him in the game of dice. He loses everything without his fault, still, we have never seen him complaining. The author has successfully portrayed his character very well. We all know the Mahabharat story but she has filled the story with emotions of Arjun and Draupadi. The author has beautifully described the reason behind his and her actions. One more thing I am very happy about is that she has not changed the story like other authors. There are many things we have neglected while reading the real Mahabharata or watching the serial but she has drawn our attention towards those things so I must say hats off to the author great job and I’m waiting for more books from her.

Let me know if u have written more books. I would like to read. I saw a book on the medical background but I guess I won’t understand much as I’m not from the medical field. I would love to read more books from you or from other authors you adore.

Hi. ‘Rage of Maggots’ is total fiction work. Not a medical textbook at all. Please go ahead and enjoy it. Its all about not-so-perfect doctors. Explores the psyche beneath the apron and beyond the stethoscope. Do let me know your take on it

Most readers have loved the 3rd story ‘Nude’ best of all. But the 1st ‘Blood’ has a special place in my heart b’cos it was the toughest to write.
