Can atheists & non-athists coexist peacefully? Yup, I sure think so. That’s b’cos both reside within me!!
My father believed in God. My mother doesn’t.
This simple fact gave me the best gift – that of Personal Choice! 
If both parents were believers, I’d have been unwittingly (and witlessly) built along similar lines. If both parents were atheists, I’d have been poured into a similar mould.
Now I’m free to think, judge, evaluate, transform, debate, expand horizons and explore. Have I reached a decision? Cant say. I’m still open to revelations.
All I can say at present is :
Varna is not equal to Caste
Ritual is not equal to Religion
Religion is not equal to Dharma

Do you believe that there either is or is not a God? As in, it is one or the other? If so, how is it and what is it you’re doing to investigate, if you don’t mind me asking?

I didn’t. I do.
Physical form is irrelevant , but I believe its a force.
I’m doing nothing to investigate, since I no longer believe its crucial to prove its existence. And thats bcos I believe atheists & believers can co-exist peacefuly. Problems only begin if 1 group tries to convert the other group. If not, alls possible

Have you considered that that IF God exists it actually has an eternal impact on one’s soul and eternity? If that’s the case it is absolutely crucial to find out one way or another and make every attempt to be correct.
Co-existing here and now, sure. But again, IF God exists not to attempt to convert would be as evil and misguided as a doctor not telling you you have cancer as not to make you upset

Which conversion are you speaking of? If you mean conversion towards basic goodness and kindness, of course its worthwhile.
But I’m referring to conversion of non believers into believers and vice versa. That’s what creates trouble and leads to frictions. I’m sure God is sane enough not to judge or punish humans based on their belief or otherwise.

And that’s my point. How do you know what God is ok with (presuming God exists)?

We safely assume any God (even if presumably existing) would be pro-goodness.

I get that, and would agree broadly speaking. What’s in question is what that God would consider good and bad, acceptable and unacceptable. That’s something to be discovered..not presumed or asserted.
For example, if there’s a government we can presume it wants to look out for the people’s safety and well being. But breaking the laws brings on a punishment. It’s important to know what those laws are. It’s also loving to tell visitors who are unfamiliar with the laws about the consequences

Can atheists, believers and agnostics co-exist peacefully? Of course they can in the Dharmic religions consisting of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. The nasadeeya suktha in Rig Veda clearly chimes in the agnostic tone. Of course such coexistence is not possible in the Semitic religions where a non-believer is simply not accommodated. It is interesting that you had the benefit of both view points from your parents to develop your own perspective. By the way, Sweety, I am barging in also because I suddenly remembered you in these pandemic times. Like the Arjun on the battlefield, be a ‘she-ro’ to your patients combating the pathogen. And yourself, take care and be well…!
